Born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia, I spent my university years working at one of the most popular shoe stores in the CBD. Despite earning very little, I never hesitated to splurge on my favourite pair when new stock arrived. The way those shoes made me feel was priceless; slipping into them transformed even my most disastrous outfit choices, boosting my confidence and elevating my entire look. Sadly, the store closed its doors in 2009, and as one shoe store after another closed, finding that perfect pair became increasingly challenging.
